Hi everyone!
.
I’m excited to invite you to come paint with me at my home in Western Massachusetts! June 29 and or 30. Check it out HERE.
The cover above was painted from the deck where you will be painting!
Paint and draw for two days with a gorgeous view.
It doesn’t matter if you are new to painting or a a seasoned pro - we will have lots of fun painting and drawing together.
On Saturday, June 29, We will focus on flowers, fun compositions for a still life, getting friendly with your materials and your Muji and Strathmore sketchbooks. My goal for you is to draw and paint most of the day and to have fun and find joy in the process. With less attention to product, but more on process. You might end up with a painting you like, you might not, but you will take home elements from the workshop that will affect your art process. Really the only time you won’t be drawing or painting is during my demos. I found on my recent trip to Oaxaca with 7 other artists that I’d never drawn and painted that much in my life. It made such a difference in how I saw things!
Lunch is included both days. There will be a (pay for your own) dinner at a nearby restaurant Saturday night for those who are staying for both days.
On Sunday, June 30, we will have a wonderful model, and even if you’ve never painted people before, have no fear! I will show you the basics for how to draw a person, but then we will focus of simply having fun and capturing the essence of our model and your surroundings. Again, my goal is for you to draw & paint all day long.
A few special things : We will be drawing at least part of the day in our Pondhouse. We’ve been the most wish listed spot in Massachusetts on Airbnb! It’s quite a magical spot. Click HERE to see more photos of the Pondhouse. The rest of the time we will use painting tables set up outside under shade. (No worries - we have a great rain plan in Peter’s large studio space)
If there is enough interest, my husband Peter Kitchell will give a 1 hr watercolor demo from 5-6 at the end of each day. He’s got a very unique way of using watercolor. He was one of the first artists to sell large abstract fine art water color posters. You’ll probably recognize his work once you see it. Click HERE to see more of his work.
If you’re a dog person Charlie is here for you. If you’re not, he knows to steer clear. He’s also an excellent model.

I will post to the public soon, until then only our Paint with G&J Patrons, past workshops and newsletter folks know about it. Space is limited.
Questions? Please ask me. I can’t wait to paint with you in person!
