Another workshop at my place and some tropical paintings
August 24 & 25 I am offering another workshop!
Hello!
I am thrilled that the June workshop sold out quickly, so I decided to add another workshop at the end of the summer!
I’m excited to invite you to come paint with me at my home in Western Massachusetts! August 24 and or 25.
It doesn’t matter if you are new to painting or a a seasoned pro - we will have lots of fun painting and drawing together.

I just got back from a week in Puerto Rico. Part of it with the family and the last three days just on our own. I had a bit of a sketchbook / drawing revelation. After the incredible week with my artists friends in Oaxaca where I took my sketchbook everywhere and pulled it out at every meal, I did this a lot more than I normally would on this vacation! Mostly because I’m having more fun with it, I think because I am way more about process and knowing that somehow what I am doing will affect art I make later. AND I’ve seen the huge benefit of drawing and looking as much as possible in my sketchbook as it keeps me warmed up, it makes me ‘see’ in general with more detail. Below are a few very rough studies of a kite surfer. I loved watching him! I realized I had to draw him a lot before I started to get the feel of him. He was so graceful and relaxed.
And now I am back to the cold in Western Massachusetts. But I will continue to paint from my photos as I have time!
Thanks for reading and stay warm
XO
Gayle
